Hawkes' Brother

Up until now this blog has almost completely been about Hawkes, but that is changing. We are adding to our little family next month and here are a few pictures to show mine and baby #2's progress. I really struggle posing for and taking these photos, so please excuse my awkwardness.

Here we are at 20 weeks. (Taken July 8th)

Here is 25 weeks. (Taken August 12th)

And here is 30 weeks. (Taken September 16th)

And here are a few photos of the little guy! He is due November 24th, so I have about 5 weeks left. We are so excited for Hawkes to get a little brother and add to our family. I won't lie though, I am a little terriefied to have 2. I'm hoping I will be able to handle it all.

Could this teeny tiny foot be any cuter?

And here is a profile shot of the little guy

Summer in Texas

With Landon's job we get to move for a few months every summer. This summer it took us to Keller Texas, which is near Ft Worth. Hawkes stayed pretty busy and here are a few photos to show what he was up to. It's a few months behind, but at least it's up and maybe I can get caught up soon.

2 pairs of sunglasses is always cooler than 1.

We were lucky enough to have a pool at our apartment. Hawkes thought it was the greatest place ever and could hang out just floating in the water all day. He actually got really good at keeping his head up and not swallowing water. He even got brave enough to jump from the side of the pool.

We also got to go the Sixth Floor Museum in Dallas that was all about John F Kennedy. Hawkes was super into the tour and he even saw the grassy knoll.

This picture was from our day at the stockyards. They still drive the cattle through the middle of the street. Hawkes loved being so close to the big cattle. He also loved exploring the railroad tracks, even in the million degree weather.

This was our 4th of July. Hawkes mostly just said wow a lot, but I think he enjoyed it. Even if he spent the whole time laying on my shoulder. I loved every minute of it.

We also had a little playground that Hawkes loved to crawl around on. We could only last about 5 minutes at a time though, because it was so hot. Even at 9:30 at night it was still 95 degrees and Hawkes would get really fun heat rashes.

The apartment next to ours had a nest of baby birds that Hawkes was obsessed with. Every time we walked past to go to the pool he would be glued to the rails trying to catch a glimpse of them.

He also continues to love bath time, and his hair is getting long enough to do some really cool hair do's.

He thinks diapers are just extra storage. How else could you carry a whole pack of markers at once? It was pretty funny to watch him get so frustrated when they kept falling out though.

He also likes to be naked. I love his little tan line!

Hawkes demonstrates his affinity for french fries. Smart kid

Like I've said before, one is never enough for Hawkes. He needed his whole pack of swim diapers on at once. At least he's getting really good at smiling for the camera.

Family Photos

Before we left to Texas this summer we had Cassie take a few family photos. Here are just a few of them. Hawkes is becoming a pro at smiling for the camera. Thanks again Cass!

Mani Day!

We were lucky enough to have Madi come stay with us for a few weeks. It was so fun to have her around but I'm pretty sure it was torture for her to be away from her friends and fun summer for that long. We did try to make her stay pleasant and stocked up on her favorite foods. As you can see she is quite the health food nut.

We ventured out a few times while she was here and made it to the 6th floor museum in Dallas. Here we are in front of the grassy knoll.

Madi was kind enough to share some of her fashion sense with us

and teach Hawkes lots of new things... Here she is showing him the intricacies of reenacting nacho libre scenes

And of course how to take selfies. Such an important skill these days.

Hawkes and Madi were best buds while she was here.

They enjoyed long walks,

and story time.

Mostly you could find Madi watching the ipad or on her phone or doing both at the same time. Sometimes she just needed some alone time, and what better place than the tub.

She also enjoyed being a creep while people napped.

And Madi/Hawkes photo shoots were daily occurrences while she was here.

We were so sad she had to go back home.

Thanks for coming and playing with us. We love you so much and wish you could always be with us. My self esteem has dropped drastically since you left, since no one thinks I am funny anymore. Have the best 16th birthday ever! I can't believe how fast it has gone by. I am so proud of the lady you are becoming, besides the occasional bad attitude. I will let that slide though since you are a teenage girl and probably just misunderstood. Wish I was there to celebrate and make your party awesome. In your honor I will eat pie, drink dr pepper, and watch wipeout today though. Love you so much! Thanks for being my other half
