So it only took 30+ hours of driving with an eight and a half month old baby, but we finally made it back to Utah safe and sound. Hawkes actually did great. He got a little restless the last little bit, but other than that he had a grand old time seeing the wonderful landscapes of western Nebraska and eastern Wyoming. He even helped drive for part of the trip!
Hawkes checking his blind spot before changing lanes. He always says "safety first...and second."
Since making it home, Hawkes has had a blast getting reacquainted with his birthplace. He went boating for the first time, and although he wasn't a huge fan of the life jacket, he loved watching the water. Next time he wants to wakeboard.
Back at home Hawkes has loved exploring his new/old house. Does it get any better than a tv and lace curtains to play with...?
...Yes! It does get better. Who could ask for a better toy than a giant cardboard box!
Through all of the changes, one thing has stayed constant. Hawkes loves his Mom! Especially with her new, fancy haircut! If she were not his mother, he said he would marry her.
Receiving kisses...
...giving kisses.
