While I was pregnant we had a little craft day to make some onesies for Hawkes.  He was really excited to get to wear this fancy one that I made for him.  I am pretty proud of myself because I am sure I don't have a crafty bone in my body.  As you can see from the photos below though this was the least crafty of the bunch.  My sister in laws are both pretty amazing when it comes to this stuff.  It was fun to spend the day with them making these though, and lucky Hawkes now has some one of a kind clothes.

Play Time!

Here is our happy little guy! He was so excited for Dad to get home from work so he could play with him. I think he was getting sick of staring at my face all day. Hawkes is getting so fun and loves to have play time.

Here is a little video we got of him doing the closest thing we have seen to a laugh. I love getting to be a part of all his firsts! So much fun.

Being Hawkes' mom is the BEST!

Track suits and drum sets

One of the advantages of having kids is the ability to dress them up for your own entertainment and reenact things that you like.  One of my favorite movies is The Royal Tenenbaums.  While shopping at Macy's the other day we came across some pretty sweet track suits on the clearance rack and decided that they would be great for dressing up Hawkes and his cousin Atlas like Ari and Uzi.  Maybe someday their grandpa will even be cool enough to take them to hop-on garbage trucks as they drive throughout the city.  We can only hope.

Atlas got a drum set for his birthday and loved playing it.  They were quite loud, but once Hawkes had his headphones on, he loved rocking out with his cousin.

When Hawkes lost his pacifier and became a little distraught about it, Atlas was nice enough to locate it for him.  They are good buddies, and look forward to forming a band that will take over the world.

Blessing Day

I will start off by apologizing for being so slack at my blog duties lately.  As Landon mentioned previously Hawkes has been feeling a little under the weather and I am just getting over a battle with a little infection called mastitis.  Needless to say it was a rough week and I look forward to getting a little more sleep.  We blessed Hawkes Mar 6th.  It was such a fun day and I couldn't help but feeling so blessed surrounded by friends and family.  Landon did such a great job.  The blessing was so sweet and just perfect.  I'm a lucky lady to have him and Hawkes is lucky to have him as a Dad.  What a wonderful example of how to be a good man.  We were lucky to have a lot of our family and friends there too.  Cassie and Jeremy even surprised us and flew in from Mexico!  A special thank you to her for getting all of these awesome pictures to document the day.  The only thing missing was my family.  I wish they could have been there too.  They were definitely missed.

Hawkes in his special outfit that was definitely getting too small.  I was not expecting him to get so big so quick.

The whole Potter Clan

Love this baby! Drool and all.

Hawkes with all his great grand parents. He is so lucky to have these 3 very special people in his life.

From peaceful to pain

Apparently Hawkes appreciates good music.  The other day I put him in his swing, turned on some Van Morrison, and walked into the other room to get dressed.  When I came back, this is how I found him.  Fist in the air, loving the tunes.  Either that or he has just found a new position to sleep.

A few days later he did the same thing when Meg was watching him.

On March 6th we had his baby blessing.  Meg will write more about it, but I thought I would use this picture to contrast this past week.  For the most part, Hawkes has been a pretty mellow kid, often curling up in a little ball and falling asleep in one of our laps.  That all changed this week.

Hawkes got sick for the first time.  It started out with him just being a little fussy, and not sleeping very well.  It then moved to a sore throat and a cute little raspy cough (cute but sad to listen to).  Then it moved to screaming...

...and more screaming...

...and some more screaming...

We think he is getting better now, and are keeping our fingers crossed that he doesn't get rsv.  Life is just so much nicer with a pleasant baby who allows his mom to sleep through at least some portion of the night.

Happy 3 Months!

Hawkes is 3 months old today! I can't believe how fast it is going. He is getting so big. As you can see from the photo above his cheeks have filled out quite nicely and his neck has completely disappeared. He weighs about 13 pounds now and still loves to eat all the time. He is so fun and smiley and tries to talk to me all the time. I can't help but feel incredibly blessed every single time I look at him. I still can't believe he is mine. I'm not sure what I did to get lucky enough to be his mom, but i am sure that it is the greatest thing in the whole world. There are not enough words to express how wonderful it has been. This does not mean that it's not hard work or that I don't have bad days, but it is completely worth it.
